The most visited white village in Spain!
Grazalema, this beautiful white town rises radiantly in the Andalusian mountains. Grazalema is located in the middle of the White Villages Route of Cádiz. Although Grazalema is the rainiest village in Spain according to statistics, it is also the most visited of the many wonderful Andalusian villages. This could be due to the beautiful natural park and stunning landscapes that surround Grazalema. It is also home to the rare Spanish fir, a prehistoric, endangered fir that covers the slopes of Grazalema and forms a unique fairytale forest. The cafés and restaurants in the many small streets and alleys with their whitewashed typical Andalusian houses, mostly decorated with beautiful ceramics and flowers, are a wonderful place to stroll and relax. In Grazalema there are churches worth seeing, especially the baroque Nuestra Señora de la Aurora, there are various museums, such as the Museum of Textile Handicrafts, which exhibits the famous woollen blankets from Grazalema. Near Grazalema there are even the remains of prehistoric settlements to visit, such as the dolmen of La Giganta, which dates back to the Copper Age. Unfortunately, you can only admire it from a distance, as it is located on private property, but it is still an impressive sight!
