Wonderful Andalusia
…a short introduction:
Andalusia – for many people who have had the opportunity to get to know Andalusia, the sound of the name alone is synonymous with a kind of magical country full of culture, architecture, history, natural wonders, beaches, and pure joie de vivre…
The list could go on and on with sounding descriptions, Andalusia is simply dreamlike!
And everyone who returns from their first holiday in Andalusia will be able to confirm that these descriptions are true, and will probably even go into raptures themselves when they recall their memories of the ambience and flair of such wonderful cities as Seville, Cordoba or Granada.
Andalusia simply makes the heart beat faster!
In any case, this is how we feel about creating this website “Andalusia Holiday” for you, and would like to fill it with more and more useful information for your holiday in Andalusia in the coming weeks, months and years, when we think back to our many stays in the south of Spain, or when we are lucky enough to be able to stay in Andalusia ourselves just once again.
Andalusia – Cities and Provinces
Andalusia is the southernmost region of Spain and is made up of 8 provinces, which have the same name with their capitals Almeria, Granada, Malaga, Jaen, Córdoba, Seville, Cádiz and Huelva. The capital of the entire southern Spanish region of Andalusia is Seville.
It is very difficult to give a special recommendation for a region or a city, because each of the cities mentioned is a uniqueness in itself, each of the cities captivates with its own very special ambience and flair. Each of these cities has its own beautiful historical buildings, cathedrals and churches. Each of these cities has romantic neighbourhoods, the “barrios”, wonderful gardens and parks, hospitable restaurants and bars, interesting squares… and all of this under the radiant Andalusian sun that never seems to set!
The mixture of different cultures over the centuries has shaped Andalusia in a uniquely special way: Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Goths, Moors and Christians, they all have a part in the cultural heritage of Andalusia and have helped shape the appearance of the cities and landscapes.
